In light of recent events regarding cars on display in shopping centres, I have been contacted by a number of concerned leasing agents worried that cars in general or EVs specifically may be about to start driving themselves through centres on mass, or worse yet that someone with bad intentions can simply drive off with a display car. Do not worry, this cannot happen. Cars have keys. If the keys are not inside the car, the car can not be turned on. It's that simple. What happened recently in Sydney was due to a specific function on the model on display that for whatever reason had been incorrectly implemented.

Shopping centre displays are a well-known marketing tactic for car dealerships that have tremendous potential to generate a high number of quality leads. However what if the leads don’t come in? Is the tactic done and dusted? Or is the dealership doing it all wrong? At Milkshake Promotions, a Perth based specialist lead-generation business for car dealerships and lifestyle brands, we present you with the top five reasons a car dealerships shopping centre display may fail. Pop-up Displays are becoming more attractive to businesses, centre owners and shoppers. As long-term retail declines, centres are looking for short-term, fun, interesting offers and customer experiences to boost activity and foot traffic. Shoppers enjoy the interactiveness, and the unexpected, short-term nature of the pop-ups means shoppers engage with the experience, much more so if it is a product or service that would not usually be located in their local shopping space.
Here are a few additional benefits of a pop-up shopping centre display. Ever since vehicles have been displayed in shopping malls, dealerships and manufacturers have focused on showcasing their new vehicles – either for the release of a new model, and upgrade/facelift of a previous model, or simply just to generate more enquiry to the dealership.
BUT we have something different for you to consider. With the current climate causing stock issues for most manufacturers, we have found that a “no car display” or what we like to refer to as a “Dealership Display” is becoming the new trend for casual mall leasing opportunities. |
